Engendering Gender by Ernest Williamson |
Waiting for Godot
Postscript
Now it is August and
days that burn in summer suns.
They wait by the tree
on the country road
where rain may fall.
The day breathes heavily
dying at an end of the world
where no winds blow
and silence smothers all.
and silence smothers all.
How further to a bursting Fall?
The April marriage of Didi and Gogo
still in August ---
an incomplete birth ---
waiting for God with a little g.
