I was his student of creative writing more than a decade ago and our class had such a nice time with him, one moment an angry one and the next enjoying tea and snacks with us in the DCA Canteen. I was one of his favorites and he read a poem I wrote for him over and over again. I remember visiting him at his Ghaziabad flat and we had lunch at Karims in Noida. Perhaps that was the last time we met. After that I heard he had returned to Calcutta from another Professor D N Sharma from the same college who passed away last year. I found his phone number still on my mobile and called but there was no reply. Then I found your blog and obituary! May his soul RIP.
